LIFE AT THE
REFUGE

Abused and neglected dogs and
puppies
have always been our priority. And we are making a difference.
We take every precious animal, clean them
up, get rid of their ticks, fleas and parasites, and take them to a
veterinarian if they are sick or injured.
Then we spay or neuter each one and
vaccinate them against disease.
From the minute these puppies and dogs
enter the refuge, we love them, care for them and spend time with them.
They are all happy and safe while awaiting that special someone to take
them home and love just them.
A wonderful couple donated 3
hectares of land just outside of La Paz, and we have been working hard
to provide a facility there where the dogs will have
plenty of room to run and play in safety.

Before you bring a dog
to the refuge, please read our intake policy.

Baja
Dogs La Paz, A.C. focuses on rescuing street dogs and
abused/abandoned dogs, healing them and finding them forever
homes. We will no longer accept a house pet in the
refuge. Dogs coming from a home environment into the refuge do
not
do well. We've observed the changes as being especially stressful
for housepets. In the future we will ask anyone bringing a dog
into the refuge to verify that it is a found street dog.
If
you can't take care of your dog because of a change in
your circumstances, we suggest you advertise the dog as available
for adoption. Make up a flier with a photo if possible and
listing sex, size, if it's been neutered, temperment and any issues the
dog may have (health, behavior, etc) and post it at the following
locations:
~ La
Paz Gringos on Yahoogroups
~ fliers with local vet offices, bulletin boards at CCC, Club Cruceros,
Wal-Mart and pet supply stores.
Bi-lingual fliers are recommended.

Donations of building
supplies, labor and money are desperately needed
to help us create a safe haven on our new 3-hectare site in the country.
